Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer recently conducted an interview during the E3 Inside Xbox special confirming that Xbox One accessories will work on Microsoft’s next-generation console ‘Project Scarlett’.
Now before we all get too excited, Spencer didn’t clarify if this statement was true across the wide range of Xbox One compatible accessories such as our beloved racing wheels, however, we now assume the chances are very good.
You can listen to Spencer confirm accessory compatibility in the video below around the 42:19 mark.
Eurogamer asked for clarification on the matter, however, Microsoft’s response was just as vague sadly.
“During the Xbox E3 Briefing, we announced that thousands of games across four console generations will look and play best on Project Scarlett. We also continue our commitment to compatibility by ensuring your Xbox One gaming accessories and Xbox career will also move forward with you. We have nothing further to share at this time.”
We do know with certainty the recently announced Xbox Elite Controller 2 will work with Project Scarlett. We’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed that our racing wheels will also be compatible. Let us know your thoughts below.
