Today marked the release of the PSVR DLC add-on for DiRT Rally. Naturally, we were more than excited to try our game of the year in the VR medium and using a racing wheel. In the video below we share with you our first two events.
Kicking off, we take on a German rally stage using the iconic Lancia Stratos rally car. Straight away we noticed the car's steering was very sensitive much to our surprise. In fact, the experience felt very different from the game we feel in love with and felt almost as if the physics were more arcade like.
Changing from 520 degrees of rotation to 1080 and setting our wheel's lock to match that found in the real car didn't solve our problems sadly as we drove the Renault Clio rallycross car around 6 laps of Lydden Hill.
Visually the game held up well, putting to shame the likes of Driveclub VR and Moto Racer 4. It really does put you in the cockpit of these amazing cars. You can listen to our early impressions of the PSVR update for DiRT Rally in the video below. Let us know your experiences with the title so far in the comments.
