News Fast & Furious Crossroads coming August 7, first gameplay revealed

All has been quiet on the Fast & Furious Crossroads front since the first trailer was revealed late last year. The game based on the outrageously popular movie franchise had been expected for some time – originally due to release in May 2020 but since then it has all gone very quiet.
Possibly also due to the acquisition of Slightly Mad Studios by Codemasters which may have slowed some logistical issues. Either way, today we get our first look at the game in action.
The gameplay reveals various activities, highlights include an intriguing three-way multiplayer mode story mode, this expanding the Fast & Furious universe introducing a range of new characters meanwhile Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson reprise their roles as Dom, Letty, and Roman.
Joining the cast are Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery, The Walking Dead) and Asia Kate Dillon (Billions, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum). Expect crazy and often ludicrous driving action matching that of the movie series covering a range of locations including Athens, Barcelona and Morocco.
It’s fair to say the presentation in the trailer isn’t blowing us away at this stage and with limited time until launch it doesn’t appear there will be much in the way of changes. However, the screenshots supplied do look slightly more polished.
We hope to have a hands-on closer to launch and will give you our usual opinions and feedback. Fast & Furious Crossroads will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on August 7, 2020. Check out the very first gameplay trailer below.
