MotoGP 20, the latest title in the long-running MotoGP franchise, will release on April 23 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC (Steam), Google Stadia and Nintendo Switch.
Typically a MotoGP title releases in the month of June, however, for the first time in its history, the latest title will release just a few weeks after the start of the official MotoGP Championship. As you’d expect, MotoGP 20 allows players to play out the 2020 MotoGP season. In addition, players can also compete in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup with the goal of reaching the top class.
MotoGP 20 sees the return of the Managerial Career giving players the choice of joining an official or sponsored team as they manage a full squad who in turn will help to analyse race data, aid in bike development and more.
Players will be able to improve the performance of different bike parts, spending development points and allocating their R&D staff to reach higher performance levels. Aerodynamics, electronics, engine power and fuel consumption (to name a few) can all be managed to improve performance. Furthermore, players will need to manage fuel and tyres and do their best to avoid any aerodynamic damage – a result of the development team’s push for more realism and strategy.
The Historical mode is back in MotoGP 20 complete with a brand new format with races randomly generated. Winning these events will net players the most legendary riders and bikes.
A.N.N.A. (Artificial Neural Network Agent), the Neural AI from last year’s title, is back in its 2.0 guise which will now manage tyre and fuel consumption to mimick real-world rider behaviours.
Dedicated servers for the Multiplayer mode have been confirmed by developer Milestone along with some improvements to “further enhance online gameplay in all modes: Public Matches, Private Matches and Race Director Mode.”
Finally, after three successful outings, Dorna and Milestone also confirm this year’s MotoGP eSport Championship, which will see players from all over the world compete to win the World Champion title.
