Shockrods is a fast-paced vehicular combat arena shooter currently under development by Stainless Games who are responsible for the much-loved Carmageddon series no less.
The second early access PC beta for the multiplayer-focused vehicular combat title will start tomorrow, April 25 and will run for six days ending on April 30. You can currently sign up for the second beta by entering your details here.
The arena shooter features fast-paced action which takes on a 6 vs 6 or 12 player free-for-all format. Check out the madness for yourself in the announcement trailer below.
Shockrods features the three classic game modes of Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, as well as a “Ball mode” which involves protecting a ball carrier as they target the opposition’s goal.
All vehicles can be customised, so you can expect to change colours, wheels, decals and more as well as kit out your chosen vehicle with an array of explosive power-ups including gatling guns, rocket launchers and freeze guns amongst others.
The action of Shockrods takes place over four environments with more to come as the game develops through Early Access. The game is expected to launch on Steam in summer 2019. We’ll have more on Shockrods in the coming weeks, for now, check out the first images below.
