This year promises to be huge in the racing genre thanks to the releases of Gran Turismo Sport, Forza Motorsport 7, not to mention an ever-growing list of annual releases such as MXGP 3, F1 2017, MotoGP 17 and WRC 7.
Another game that is set to make a big splash this September is Slightly Mad Studios' Project CARS 2. We put the wheel and controller aside for one moment to catch up with the game director Stephen Viljoen to discuss various aspects of the title to the backdrop of some exclusive PlayStation 4 footage of the racer.
Viljoen and the team were keen to refine the Project CARS experience by keeping elements which added depth to the game and scrapping other areas which didn't quite work. One big focus of Project CARS 2 is the new weather system which not only replicates different weather conditions as seen previously, but also introduces seasonal changes.
Further into the video (below) we also pair some work in progress PlayStation 4 gameplay against the PC which highlights just how well the game is coming along on the console which is remarkably close to the PC experience. You can view the full interview with Stephen Viljoen along with some preview PC and PlayStation 4 gameplay in the video below.
