Lohan “NEXL” Blanc has won the 2019 Esports WRC Championship powered by Hyundai.
The 20-year old Frenchman put in a dominant performance to beat three other finalists including last year’s winner and real-world rally driver Jon Armstrong to lift the trophy.
Blanc not only has the bragging rights of being the absolute best WRC 8 player for the year but also gets to drive away in a brand-new Hyundai i20 road car and enjoy a high-speed co-drive with Hyundai Motorsport’s Dani Sordo.
The 2019 Esports WRC Championship final played out live over the course of one hour. Blanc only managed to secure the third spot after the first event (Brenig, Wales) giving him over 2 seconds of ground to make up.
The dominance began on the second stage, Blanc managed to secure the fastest time at Yesilbelde, Turkey leaving competitors Dylan Noel and Peter “Subee203” Suborits well in his dust.
This set up a two-horse race between Blanc and last year’s winner Jon Armstrong heading into the third and final stage at La Bollene-Vesuby, Monte Carlo. Blanc put in an other-worldly performance to win the stage by a colossal 16-seconds leaving us in no doubt to who is currently the fastest WRC Esports player right now.
