Gran Turismo 7 has been officially revealed for the PlayStation 5 during PlayStation’s Future of Gaming live stream held tonight.
To accompany the obligatory trailer we also got to witness some raw gameplay footage of the much-anticipated racer featuring the fan-favourite Trial Mountain track which sees its return to the series, check it out below.
Of course, it was a very likely scenario that we would see a new Gran Turismo title announced today, however, it wasn’t entirely clear whether it would be a sequel to Gran Turismo Sport or the full-fat Gran Turismo 7, we now know it is the latter.
We’ve had to wait for an entire generation for the seventh game in the long-running series and judging by the user interface shown in the video above it looks like the upcoming title from Polyphony draws some parallels to older titles suggesting a very comprehensive career mode.
Indeed this notion is strengthened thanks to Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi stating the following during tonight’s stream: “I think this new Gran Turismo should make fans very happy especially with the campaign mode“.
We’re certainly very excited of the prospect of a Gran Turismo 7 title with a campaign mode akin to that found on Gran Turismo 4 for example. Sadly no release window was given in tonight’s presentation, we’ll bring you more on Gran Turismo 7 as soon as we know more.
