The seventh GT Academy talent scouting programme will officially commence next week on April 21st 2015, Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital has revealed.
Announced as the GT Academy 2015 'special events' placeholders were added to Gran Turismo 6, the initiative will be highly similar to last year's, where Gran Turismo 6 players will be tasked to qualify for the selection process by competing in a series of in-game time trial challenges.
The process will culminate with a final fourth event that opens on June 6th 2015, which will presumably be used to whittle down the fastest Gran Turismo 6 players for the regional finals.
Other details on the GT Academy 2015 competition- such as which territories will be hosting Academies, and whether or not the 'Wild Card' events will return – are expected to be revealed in the coming days
The GT Academy is a collaborative effort between Nissan and Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital, which aims to nurture the fastest Gran Turismo players into competitive racing drivers. Several GT Academy 'NISMO Athletes' have scored wins and podium finishes in several motorsportS series, such as GP3, SuperGT, LMP2 and GT endurance racing.
